The networking site for professionals, LinkedIn launched LinkedIn Contacts last week.
The new product helps LinkedIn users stay in touch with their contacts in a new and ‘smart’ way.
Want someone to remind you when your contacts are celebrating new jobs or birthdays? Need a quick glance at your last conversations with people before you go meet them? If you’ve wished for something like this, LinkedIn Contacts is for you!
It is currently available on LinkedIn.com and a new iPhone app. LinkedIn will be sending out invites to selected people over the coming weeks to try out Contacts.
The LinkedIn Contacts experience gives users a feel of features in these areas:
- Get all your contacts in one place
LinkedIn Contacts brings all your address books, emails and calendars together in one place and keeps them updated. LinkedIn will pull in details from your past conversations and meetings from these sources and get these details directly onto your contact’s profile.
- Use all opportunities to stay in touch
Get job change and birthday alerts for people in your network. These are great opportunities to stay in touch with people you may not have spoken to in a while. You can also set reminders and add notes about people who’re important.
- Go Mobile
iPhone users will be able to use LinkedIn Contacts while they are out and about too. It is available as a standalone app for iPhones.
